There is a significant achievement gap between high poverty urban schools and suburban schools.  AUSL’s goal is to close that gap.  The schools CPS assigns to AUSL were some of the lowest performing schools in the state.  They have been chronically under-performing for years, some for decades.  While school turnaround does not happen overnight, AUSL is seeing significant improvement in almost all of our turnaround schools.
