		AUSL’s AmeriCorps member teacher residents serve at AUSL’s teacher training academies, training sites and turnaround schools.
		City Year Chicago partners with AUSL to deliver literacy tutoring in AUSL’s elementary turnaround schools.
		UCAN strives to build strong youth and families through compassionate healing, education and empowerment. UCAN and AUSL have partnered to deliver youth leadership and academic support programs for AUSL’s North Lawndale Schools.
		AUSL is a founding member of the Urban Teacher Residency United (UTRU) organization. We work with UTRU in sharing AUSL’s model with school district’s around the country.

Curricular Enhancement Programs

AUSL’s curricular enhancements provide supplemental supports to classrooms and learning opportunities that are usually overlooked in traditional public schools. These supports are offered to classrooms and programs in the fine & performing arts and physical education. In addition, Curricular Enhancements supports a robust menu of out-of-school time programming and field experiences that connect to learning in the classroom. By offering these supports, schools are better equipped to implement a sustainable, holistic educational philosophy resulting in increased student engagement cultural literacy and active citizenship.

Objectives

• To provide AUSL students quality programming and field experiences in the fine and performing arts athletics social services and academic enhancements.
• To improve student well-being and preparedness for high school college and the work place.
• To provide knowledge-building opportunities for school administrators and faculty.
• To identify pursue and acquire additional funding sources that support quality programs services and enhancements.
• To advocate for the expansion of high-quality programs and additional opportunities for students outside of the traditional school day.
