National-Louis University is AUSL's University Partner. Founded in 1886, NLU certifies more Illinois teachers than any other college of education. Since 2001, AUSL's program leaders and coaches and National Louis University College of Education faculty have co-developed the AUSL Chicago Teacher Residency program, training over 400 new teachers for success in urban schools. The Chicago Teacher Residency program's partnership between AUSL and National Louis weaves together practice and theory, powerfully integrating a ten-month classroom residency experience with 12 months of Master's degree coursework.
