AUSL works in partnership with CPS to directly link teacher preparation and district transformation initiatives.

One of the most critical and singular strengths of our model for transformation is our pipeline of high-quality teachers specifically prepared in the AUSL Residency program for the rigors of the city’s high-poverty schools.

Before AUSL became Chicago’s first organization to implement a Turnaround School model, we built the foundations of our teacher preparation program and our Training Academies. These are excellent urban schools in which the next generation of effective teachers spend a year student-teaching with a mentor teacher.
