It takes a strong team to succeed at each Turnaround School. The organization must collaborate and support a strategic policy on school culture, alternative uses of the time in each school day, and the most appropriate programs within and beyond the regular school hours.
Leadership at all levels must also be ready for responsible and disciplined community outreach, which must be sustained for it to be meaningful to the school's long-term success.
And finally, the leaders at each AUSL school respect and welcome opportunities for teachers to advance, including becoming team leader within their grade cluster, training as a mentor teacher for the AUSL Residency program, pursuing National Board Certification and/or enrolling in a principal-training program.
The eight people pictured below are the wonderfully gifted and dedicated principals at our AUSL-network CPS schools.
